Summer Survival: Annotating books!

Hey guys is finally summer! I hope everyone has had a great start to their summer so far but if you're like me, we have some summer reading to do. I've decided to start a new series called "Summer Survival" where I'll give tips and tricks when concerning summer and reading! For my english honor 2 class I will be taking next year I have to read 4 books and annotate/take notes on all four of them. So, for the first blog post in Summer Survival, I'll be sharing with you how I annotate and take note in my books- Enjoy!

☀️ How I annotate/take notes when reading☀️

🔖 Handy thing to have 🔖

small container for things to stay in
pencil
highlighters
post-it notes

I put all these supplies into the container and then leave it by my bed so,
I always have everything in one spot

📝Annotating📝
1) I will read through, one chapter at a time and keep 4 things in mind; character development, literary devices, important plot points, and new vocabulary

2) Then according to the color, I will go through the chapter and highlight accordingly and then elaborate on why I highlighted said line

3) The last thing I will do is write a chapter summary after every chapter I finish.

You've made it to the end of the post- yay! I hope this has helped you guys in some way when it comes to annotating books either for school or just in general. I'll talk to you guys in my next post!
