8 way to defeat a reading slump
HELLO!!!
So it's been a hot minute since I've posted on here. And there is a reason for that. I'm in a reading slump. :(
But I have good news! I'm getting out of my reading slump and have some tips for you guys if your in a reading slump too!
HOW TO GET OUT OF A READING SLUMP:
1. Try to re-read the book (or series) that first got you into reading.
For me this book was Percy Jackson and the lightning thief (+ the rest of the series) If remembering the book that first got you into reading is a little foggy, try just re-reading a book you really enjoyed!
2. Read a book right of the press.
Or in other words, read a book that was just released. This will help you go into the book without really knowing anything that other people had=d to say about the book so it will be a surprise to you!
3. Re-organize your bookshelf.
By re-organizing your bookshelf you get to look through all your books again. It's like shopping through all the books you already own and get to choose which one you want to read next.
4. Read a book written in Verse.
For those of you who don't know what verse is don't fret! Verses are just like poems and look like this.
The good thing about reading a novel written in verse (or poems) is that you will be done with it fast and if it was a good book, hopefully you will want to read another!
5. Go to a bookstore/library
Just being surrounded by books may help you get out of your slump. Walk around the store and just look at some of the books and maybe rent or buy a few!
6. Read a book with a friend
By reading a book with a friend you can bounce ideas and theories about the book back and forth between each other and just overall motivate each other to read the desired book.
7. Try listening to an audiobook
Literally any book you have in paper, is an audiobook. So maybe you just need a fresh look (or in this case, Hear) and you'll be back on track.
8. Read a book that interests you
If you like reading about exploring the world read about that. If plants interests you read about plants. Just don't feel like you need to read a book because everyone else is.
You've made it to the end of my list! I hope some of these tips are able to help you come out of your reading slump. I would mean so much to me if you guys could comment, and share on my post. Thanks for reading and I'll see you in my next post!
